I've had no luck bidding at SFO this summer. I've given up and booked a car in San Bruno, five minutes from the airport, for about $150 for a week. SFO Priceline rates are $400 and up. I realize there is more demand for rental cars in the summer, but why such a huge difference between the airport and nearby cities? And instead of $100 extra for taxes and fees, it was only about $20! I'll put up with a little inconvenience to save that kind of money.

If more people did this, it would send a message to various levels of state and local governments that ripping off tourists is bad for business!
