I "won" this from Hotwire too, saw it advertised on TripAdvisor for $99/night and got a refund for the difference and $20. It's probably Hotel Latham, which is in a great location, with mixed reviews. I was happy with my quiet, clean room, set back a bit, overlooking M Street. The bath room was small, shower adequate, check in pleasant, contrary to some reviews, parked laptop in safe, so I didn't use their WiFi. I didn't have a car, so I didn't use their valet, but parking may be limited in the area. My stay was late June, I enjoyed walking to breakfast with my Washington Post that was left at my door each morning. There's several buses that run by the hotel and the doorman will hail a cab. It's a bit of a hike to the Metro and to the Mall, but very doable if one's used to walking. There are panhandlers along the way, starting in Foggy Bottom,
