adbynot Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 Well after almost two weeks of daily bidding and trouble with Priceline denying my multiple daily requests by giving me a "duplicate bid error" I have finally booked two rooms from Feb 5th-14th, 2012 for $135/night.
AaronJB Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 Congrats on your success. :)Persistence paid off nicely - good deal for this Hyatt property ("duplicate bid" would mean you've made that same bid within the last 24 hours.)Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.

adbynot Posted August 12, 2011 Author Report Posted August 12, 2011 Aaron,I didn't try a bid for two days because of this error. Priceline's generic email response was to try changing zones, hotel *, or travel dates. My dates were set and I exhausted all available zones and star levels that I would prefer.I followed this routine for 2 weeks before this was a problem but that is all behind me know because I was able to pickup this gem today.I would like to say that I would have prefered the Marriott but I'll give this one a whirl........... :) Anthony

A normal 4 zone area which is your primary and 3 rebid zones would allow 3 free rebids, but the permutation bid would allow "7" free rebids. It basically works like this:X= Wailea or whatever you want your main zone to be.A= Ka'anapalia-LahiniaB= KiheiC= Kahului* note that Kihei and Ka'anapalia don't have 3 1/2* Upscale-Plus rooms so you won't be getting stuck there bidding this level or above.First bid) New bid: X Rebid #1) Rebid screen: X, add A New bid: XBRebid #3) Rebid screen: XB, add ANew bid: XCRebid #5) Rebid screen: XC, add ANew bid: XBCRebid #7) Rebid screen: XBC, add AIf you are denied your first bid, you can rebid right away using rebid #1, if that is rejected close out Priceline and open it up again and start using Newbid XB and so on. You will be closing out Priceline after every rebid screen is rejected to obtain the full amount of rebid allowed per day.I hope this helps out and good luck,Anthony
