Hi there,

I am trying to figure out what hotel(s) a 4.5* hotel in the soho-financial district might be on hotwire. It's at $169.

Is there an updated list of hotwire hotels in NYC?

(Also, I am trying more for $150/night - should I bid?)

I should note my dates 8/25 - 8/28

this is the fixed price - $169 - if I bid, does anyone know if I can get the W for cheaper and what price range?

Thanks!

This is a counter-offer, and the winning bid could be between the counter-offer price and your last bid, so I would proceed slowly higher from $140, moving up by $3's.

There is no way to know which hotel the counter-offer may be for.

If you're using the counter-offer page to bid you can't undercut the re-bid amount.

However, you can undercut the re-bid amount by using re-bid zones (see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained, but if you're new to the concept it's strongly encouraged that you confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding). Are you bidding 4* or 3.5*?? At the 4* level in NYC you have FIVE re-bid zones... at the 3.5* level you have FOUR re-bid zones.

Let us know which star level you bid when receiving the counter-offer, confirm your re-bid zones, and let us know how high you're willing to bid, and we'll advise accordingly.

I'm trying for MTE or Soho/FD - I saw that some people got $150-160 this week. I need aug 25-26, 2011 (potentially the next two nights as well).

None of my bidding strategies are working. Have tried adding zones (with no hotels in 3.5 or 4).

What's my bidding strategy for a 3.5 or 4 in these areas. Can my ceiling be 160?

When you received the counter-offer you were only bidding 4*, correct? If so, do you want to bid for a 4* up to $160 OR are you seeking the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay?

How high have you bid on your last round of bidding? Was this at the 3.5* and 4* levels OR just 4*?

I just got Andaz Wall Street for $155 (4*, 08/25-26). Didn't really want to be this south - but was having trouble bidding. It looks like a nice hotel? I also need something for the 26-28, 2 more nights. I would like 3.5* to 4* in MTE, Soho (but you can end up in the financial district which is annoying), Central South, Upper Manhatten, MTW (last option). What should be my bidding strategy. We really don't want to spend more than $150 if possible.

Thanks.

Congrats on your success. :)

Excellent deal for this newer boutique property (lowest rate on Expedia - $311), although sorry to hear that the location isn't what you were hoping for.

Please start a new thread for the 8/26-28 stay; if you bid for the Downtown-Soho-Financial zone again in an attempt to get in/near Soho, are you okay with possibly getting the Andaz or another downtown/Wall Street hotel again?

Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Enjoy your stay.
