October 1 is a Saturday 1 night stay. Many small hotels are booked or will not take a 1 night Saturday booking. If I did not have success at an acceptable price, I would have looked at the airport and taken the train into the city, but this is better for me.

Hotwire was offering 4* fitness/restaurant/business/laundry/internet/golf&tennis nearby in this district at $166 and probably the Park Plaza Schiphol for $99 in the airport district for that night.
