vkl168 Posted August 10, 2011 Report Posted August 10, 2011 This is the first time I am using Priceline for hotel. Hope the hotel is OK.Bid on 3 rooms for 8/12-8/14 and got Intercontinental The Barclay at $175/night before taxes/fees. I guess my only dissapointment is the $60/day fee for parking. OUCH! didn't realize they charge that high for parking in NYC. Is is this typical?
AaronJB Posted August 10, 2011 Report Posted August 10, 2011 Congrats on your success and Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Very nice deal for this well-located/historic MTE property. Unfortunately, $60 for parking is not out of the ordinary.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
thereuare Posted August 11, 2011 Report Posted August 11, 2011 You don't have to park at the hotel... drop your bags off and then go park the car at a private garage in the neighborhood. As you get closer to 1st Ave rates should probably drop a bit then in the heart of midtown (i would think ~$30-$35 per day would seem reasonable)You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers.Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
