vci15 Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 I'm trying to get the Westin in Times Square for around 150-170 for 8/27-8/29 and I was wondering if this list is the most up to date as Westin is a 4* hotel. I noticed there is a 4* hotel called The Ravel in Long Island City so it kind of scared me to try rebidding.Brooklyn (highest 3.5)Chelsea (highest 3)Coney (highest 2)Long Island (highest 3)Madison (highest 3.5)Upper East (highest 3)

thereuare Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 No, those are not your re-bid zones. Not sure how you determined those re-bid zones, but the correct way to determine your re-bid zones is outlined here: Priceline Re-Bidding ExplainedPlease read the previous thread and see if you can determine your FIVE re-bid zones at the 4* level and confirm them with the board. If you read the previous thread and are confused just post back and we'll break it down further for you. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. vci15 Posted August 9, 2011 Author Report Posted August 9, 2011 ahh got it. I'm seeing Coney Island, Long Island City, Madison Square Garden - Convention Area, Queensborough Bridge, Upper East SideI got an offer by Priceline that said they would let me bid again if I bid 188. Does that mean anything?
vci15 Posted August 10, 2011 Author Report Posted August 10, 2011 Started bid at like 150, got an offer to bid 188 one more time so I knew to bid under that threshold. Bid 160 and got rejected but then got accepted at 165.
thereuare Posted August 10, 2011 Report Posted August 10, 2011 Yes, you now have your re-bid zones correct :) (but always double check them just before bidding to make sure that nothing has changed since you last checked)PRICELINE offering the option to bid again at $188 is what we refer to as a counter-offer and basically it means that you will be successful at some number between the amount of your bid and $188... you can read more about counter-offers in this Priceline Suggests Price to Pay thread.Do you recall the star level, zones and amount of the bid you made when you received the counter-offer?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
