AaronJB Posted August 10, 2011 Report Posted August 10, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)What would be your desired budget per night?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
ksera123 Posted August 10, 2011 Author Report Posted August 10, 2011 Well, I was hoping for under 300. I since have seen your rebidding strategies and I did try that a few times as well. I added the non 4 star areas to my existing bid from your link and increased in $5 increments up to 205. Then, I quit for now and figured I should see what you folks say.so, I did195200205
thereuare Posted August 10, 2011 Report Posted August 10, 2011 With midtown Manhattan being so dense and the zones so close to one another, is MTW the only zone which will work for your plans (or are there hotels in the other zones you're hoping to avoid??)My guess is that $300 will get you close, but for a 4* (in midtown, not necessarily only MTW) it will likely take a little more, but by adding as many zones which are acceptable you give more hotels the ability to accept your bid, which increases your likelihood of success.Let us know your thoughts regarding the zones and we'll take it from there.ALSO, at the 4* level you have FIVE re-bid zones, are you able to identify all FIVE? ksera123 Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 I do see the 5 rebid zones now. I do think I would also be interested in expanding past just the MTW zone into MTE and Time Square with the 4* category.I do seem to have $5 per day bonus money which is good thru 8/31. I did read about how to use it and still use the PRICELINE link, so I will of course do that. I'd be interested in a bidding strategy using the extra 5 bucks. So far, I've bid up to 200 (today) using the rebid zones and the mtw, mte and TS areas. Thanks!

You do lose the 'buzz' of NYC, but with $125+ savings per nite, i'll mention it as something to consider.
