choco901 Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 hello,I'm a newbie for this website and priceline or hotwire bidding.I've only booked with pulished rates but never did bidding before. So, I need your help :)We will fly to Chicago from LA, so we will not have a car. we will use public transportation. (no parking needed)We (4 girls) never been to chicago before so I'm kinda lost... I see a couple of areas of Downtown(Loop? North Michigan Ave? Grant Park? etc...)Which area is the most convenient location to tourists who never been to Chicago? We want to stain in heart of downtown Chicago! :)Our trip dates are 09/16(Fri)-09/18(Sun) We want something around $100-$130(including tax+fee) per night for 4* or greater. Is this possible? or how much should i bid??Since we need 2 beds, should I try Hotwire???Please help me........... Thank you in advance!
AaronJB Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)If you are a party of four, then HOTWIRE is a better option, as if you indicate 4 in the party, you should be able to get bedding for four. While that commonly means 2 beds, it can mean 1 + sofabed or other combination, depending on availability. In terms of HOTWIRE, you should be looking at the Mag Mile-Streeterville zone or NMA-Water Tower-Gold Coast zone. Both of these zones are North of the River, and contain both the North Michigan Ave. shopping area and the River North area, which has a wide variety of restaurants and nightlife. The Loop area (South of the river) is okay, but does tend to get quiet later at night, especially in some areas.Unfortunately, $130 including tax/fees is not going to be enough for these dates - when searching for four, the cheapest option is around $185 + taxes/fees. Four in the same room is going to be more expensive, due to extra person fees included in that price for each person beyond the first two.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

choco901 Posted August 4, 2011 Author Report Posted August 4, 2011 Thank you!Is there any possibility that i can get 2 beds with Priceline?
AaronJB Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 PRICELINE only guarantees 1 bed/double occupancy. You can request two beds with the hotel once the reservation is made, but the hotel could be unwilling or unable to offer two beds, or may charge more. Overall, getting two beds with PRICELINE is possible, but in no way guaranteed. As noted above in terms of more than one bed, HOTWIRE would be the better choice: "If you are a party of four, then HOTWIRE is a better option, as if you indicate 4 in the party, you should be able to get bedding for four. While that commonly means 2 beds, it can mean 1 + sofabed or other combination, depending on availability."Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
