Hotwire Hotel: Please Help Identify 3* Chelsea-MSG Area Hotel

Staying in NYC from August 16-20, 2011, 2 adults, 2 kids. Would appreciate if you could help me identify a few hotels. Thanks!

3 * Chelsea MSG: $213

Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet

4.5 * Downtown-SOHO-Financial District Area Hotel: $311

These prices seem a bit steep for this time of year. Do you think that the prices will drop if I wait? Also, if I bid on priceline, do hotels ever give rooms with two beds? Thanks for the help.

Best guess for each would be as follows.

3* Chlesea-MSG (although i'll that i'm not seeing this property on a current search for your dates)

Hilton Garden Inn Chelsea OR Holiday Inn Sixth Ave

4.5* Downtown

W Hotel Downtown

4* Times Square

Prices are likely higher then you expect because you're looking for quad occupancy. The majority of rooms at most hotels in NYC only have one bed and many have little/no room for a rollaway. As a result, many hotels consider rooms with two beds to be an upgrade and charge extra for them. Using PRICELINE (or booking on HOTWIRE for only double occupancy) in NYC when you need quad occupancy is a risk... you can call the hotel after your purchase and request a room with 2 beds, but there is no guarantee that the hotel will be able, or willing, to accommodate your request.
