lency83 Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Hello, I would like to get a 4* room in North Miami Beach from August 11 - August 14. I'd like to keep it under $100, if possible. Could you provide me with a bidding strategy?

lency83 Posted August 4, 2011 Author Report Posted August 4, 2011 I clicked the link. I'm interested in staying in North Miami Beach, but would be willing to stay anywhere on the beach. My travel dates are August 11 - 14.Thanks,
thereuare Posted August 5, 2011 Report Posted August 5, 2011 ...willing to stay anywhere on the beach.Which zones, by PRICELINE name, are you willing to accept?Let us know and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. lency83 Posted August 5, 2011 Author Report Posted August 5, 2011 north miami beach, miami beach, and all of the south beach options. thanks.
thereuare Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 Note that not all South Beach zones are 'on the beach'.. .are all three SoBe zones acceptable? Please confirm and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. lency83 Posted August 6, 2011 Author Report Posted August 6, 2011 I thought they were all on the beach. I would like to be on the beach, do you know hwich SoBe zone is on the beach? That's where I'd like to stay. Thanks.
thereuare Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 If you enter Miami, FL in the search box on the top right of this page you can then zoom in on the zones and see the boundaries of each. In particular the South Beach Central zone doesn't have any area directly on the beach... you can double check the others (and even if part of the zone is on the beach, you could receive a hotel anywhere in the zone... not necessarily on the beach)If Beachfront is a 'must have' (and not a want, and 'near the beach' is not acceptable) then HOTWIRE may be a better option as you can ensure Beachfront by choosing a hotel with the Beachfront icon.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. lency83 Posted August 8, 2011 Author Report Posted August 8, 2011 I looked on hotwire and all of the hotels on or near the beach are out of my price range. I'd like to try priceline and get a bidding strategy for a hotel on or near the beach. I want 4* and my zones are miami beach, north miami beach, and all 3 south beach options.Thanks.
thereuare Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 Is $100 still your maximum bid? We can give it a try, but i think that will likely be tough for a 4* hotel in these zones. Please confirm and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and please click this PRICELINE link before replying.Thanks. lency83 Posted August 9, 2011 Author Report Posted August 9, 2011 I clicked the PRICELINE link. I'd like to keep it at $100... it's worth a try. Thanks.

lency83 Posted August 9, 2011 Author Report Posted August 9, 2011 no luck :-( what do you think is a reasonable price? $125? I can increase my budget to that...
thereuare Posted August 10, 2011 Report Posted August 10, 2011 I'm guessing somewhat more than $125 too... what is the best rate you're able find thru traditional booking channels? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. lency83 Posted October 3, 2011 Author Report Posted October 3, 2011 I ended up booking directly through the hotel website. I can't remember the price right now, but it was a lot more than $125...
