Hi, totally new to this, found you highly recommeneded on the MSE website in the UK, along with the Priceline and Hotwire sites. Been online near enough all day trying to figure out what / where to book and blown my mind!!! We will be in NYC from 08/20/2011-08/24/2011 (possibly 08/25 but on reading tips and advice wasn't sure if going over 4 nights was advisable for the best deals?!). We are travelling with our two daughters 15 & 12 so want to stay in one room together. Want to do all the usual touristy things, so can you please advise which areas would be best to stay for easy access and safe return if late evening, and what price would we expect to pay at this time year and how to go about ensuring the 4 of us are all in one room. Would appreciate any advice you can give. Thank you.

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

A few notes/questions:

1. What would be your desired budget/star rating per night?

2. PRICELINE only guarantees 1 bed/double occupancy. While one can request two beds with the hotel, that is a huge risk in NYC where rooms with two beds are far less common and room sizes are tiny. If you search on HOTWIRE, you can search for the amount of people in the room and ensure some form of bedding for the entire party.

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Hi thanks for this...searching on hotwire a 4* with pool (not essential) has come up in Hoboken for $94 - any idea if this is a good location for sightseeing and safe to return to at night :) ?

we would ideally like 3*-4* - budget around $150 p/night.
