etronsman Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 I'm looking for anywhere from a 3.5 to Resort for three (3) rooms, 11/10 through 11/14. Haven't had any luck and best I received was a counteroffer to try my request again at $100/night for resort (bid was $80). Am I trying too far out? Do the non-Disney hotels go down in price after Disney releases its fall discounts?
AaronJB Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)What would be your desired budget per night? Given that the likely win at the resort level is in-between your bid and the counter-offer, were you interested in trying to go higher? There is no way to know if rates will come down closer to your dates.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

etronsman Posted August 4, 2011 Author Report Posted August 4, 2011 I would say our budget is up to $90 or $100 per night. I get frequent emails from priceline about $70 resort bids being accepted in Lake Buena Vista but I can't even get a counter offer when I bid $85. Assuming I am too far out but looking for guidance. Thanks!
thereuare Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 Rates are date specific, and the emails you receive from PRICELINE are not for your specific dates, so they may have little to do with what is required to win for your trip.Based upon the counter-offer you received at the Resort level, the 'right' number is somewhere between $81 and $100, so you can get something within your budget. The question is whether you're willing to pay more for a Resort class property vs. a 3.5* OR if your goal is the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay. Have you done any 3.5* bidding yet, if so, how high have you bid at the 3.5* level? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. (and not the links in any of PRICELINE's emails)Thanks. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
