kdinh10 Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 I'll be looking for a 5* on the strip (We prefer the north strip) on August 27-29. Do you think its too early to start bidding now or should I wait another week?
AaronJB Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)I definitely don't think that it's too early to bid for the end of August. It would be a bit early to bid for 6-9 months out or so.What would be your desired budget per night/star rating?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
kdinh10 Posted July 30, 2011 Author Report Posted July 30, 2011 Hi Aaron,Thank you for the reply. :)We have a room booked with Aria right now that we can cancel. It was around $400 (with tax) for those two nights and we also get $100 resort credit we can use.We are looking to see if we can get a better deal than that through bidding. We would like a 5* hotel and our budget would be $130/night.

kdinh10 Posted July 31, 2011 Author Report Posted July 31, 2011 Should I use the same if were looking for the North strip? I know its a bit more expensive in that area so I'm not sure if $130 would be enough but its worth a try.
Romelle Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 Should I use the same if were looking for the North strip? I know its a bit more expensive in that area so I'm not sure if $130 would be enough but its worth a try.I think that was just a typo. You could try that pattern on the north strip today. And then if it didn't work, you could just start a little higher tomorrow. By working through the lower numbers, when you are ultimately successful you will be confident you didn't overbid. Winning on one's very first bid is actually frustrating because you find yourself wondering how much lower might have worked.Romelle
kdinh10 Posted August 1, 2011 Author Report Posted August 1, 2011 Tried to bid up to $130 for the North Strip with all the rebids but no luck today. It did say that the average for those days is $230 on priceline. Does that make a difference?
Romelle Posted August 1, 2011 Report Posted August 1, 2011 That "average retail" is best just ignored. It doesn't see to be based on reality. Now that you have established that $130 isn't enough for a north strip 5*, you have some choices:Raise your limit?Look at north strip 4*s?Consider other areas, like south strip?Stay with that Aria?Or even keep trying up to the $130 for the 5* north strip?Romelle
kdinh10 Posted August 3, 2011 Author Report Posted August 3, 2011 I will try to bid up at $145 tonight but does anyone know what is going on in vegas on the 28th? I checked palazzo's site and it said $599 for Sunday night.
thereuare Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 The Palazzo's sister property, Venetian, is hosting a 18K person conference starting August 29, so the Palazzo may be getting a lot of the overflow traffic. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
