zimbabman
I am trying to book a car rental through priceline name your own price for an under 25 driver. I read that I can book it as an over 25, and when arriving at the desk just pay the fee for the under 25 surcharge. Is this true? Would you suggest I do this? I tried doing a NYOP for 21-24 driver but it has kept on rejecting my offers, even though they are substantial Link to comment
thereuare
I read that I can book it as an over 25, and when arriving at the desk just pay the fee for the under 25 surcharge... Would you suggest I do this?I wouldn't. In theory the amount needed for you to win would be:minimum bid threshold for acceptance + under 25 surcharge by rental company = total amount needed to winSo what would be the point of breaking out the minimum age surcharge and paying that at the counter? It's possible booking as a 25+ year old and paying the surcharge separately goes without a problem, but at least one possible scenario is that the agency is low on cars and therefore assigns you a premium car for which requires the driver to be 25+ (which they assume you are since you indicated such when submitting your bid)... you show up and there aren't any cars available permissible for those 24 years old and under.I tried doing a NYOP for 21-24 driver but it has kept on rejecting my offers, even though they are substantialWhat city, dates, car class and bid amounts have you tried? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. zimbabman
BostonAugust 12-14CompactTried 35, 37, 40. This would be 25 + 10, 12, 15 for the rental. I have seen some getting cars for 8-15 in Boston for September Link to comment
thereuare
If you go to Hertz they're having a promotion until Sept 30 of waiving the underage driver fee... if you search there what is the rate you get for your dates?
