shrike Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 I'm looking for a hotel near WDW for 6/23-30. I've already tried resorts up to $88, 3* up to $60, and 2.5* up to $25. that's about the maximum i'm willing to pay for those ratings at this point.I also tried breaking it into two bids (4 nights/3 nights, 3 nights/4 nights, etc.) with different combinations of star ratings, all with zero success.the most important factor is transportation. i'm under 25, so it's not economical to rent a car (~$20/day surcharge). so the hotel must be in walking distance of disney tranportation, have a good shuttle system, or be dirt-cheap so i can take a taxi every day.there isn't anything too spectacular on hotwire, and EasyClickTravel and the other travel websites aren't showing anything good.do i need to raise my maximum bids? i'd greatly appreciate aaaany suggestions, bidding strategies, or advice. thanks!
shrike Posted June 2, 2005 Author Report Posted June 2, 2005 um.. nevermind.. i just followed ufjoe21's example and got the la quinta inn lakeside for $24 a night. aa, the impatience of youth. i just hope it's not as bad as the reviews say.

ufjoe21 Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 Actually the reviews aren't all bad, I've stayed at the Days Inn Lakeside which is 1* and was absolutely horrible and most of the reviews confirmed that. La Quinta has mixed reviews.maybe I'll see you there :)
