Priceline Hotel: 4* NYC SoHo Sept 2 - 6

Hey there,

Looking for a hotel from Sept 2 - 6 preferably in the SoHo area or (MTE / MTW / TS )

Is there a way to bid for SoHo and not potentially get a hotel in the financial district?

Looking to spend a total of $200/night "all in" preferably 4* but willing to do 3.5* in a good location.

i've tried bidding 130 (pre-tax) for SoHo and other bids separately for other areas and have been unsuccessful.

What would you suggest or think a good rate would be to bid for SoHo 4* (not financial) or other areas (MTE / MTW / TS)

Also curious... how are you able to bid and reject the offer? i'm new to PRICELINE.

When using PRICELINE there is no way to avoid a particular section of the zone... you must be able to accept any part of the zone that you bid. If you need to target a specific area HOTWIRE may be a better choice as you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel or area you're hoping for. As well, HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone, so there is a chance the hotel offered at your desired star level won't be in the part of the zone you prefer.

While your $170 bid was rejected downtown, i do think you have a chance at a win for a 4* hotel at around the $170 mark in midtown (give or take a few dollars either way). If midtown is still acceptable, which midtown zone(s) (by PRICELINE name) are you willing to accept (above you mention MTE, MTW and TS... but are ESB and/or CPS also acceptable?) and what is your maximum bid for a midtown property?
