sunslover Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 This is my review from TA:Short review: Friendly staff, clean hotel & rooms, free hot breakfast, free parking, free WiFi, fitness roomLong review:We stayed in this hotel for six nights and had such a great experience. We used Priceline's Name Your Own Price feature and got this hotel for $75/night (a steal compared to the regular rate on the hote'ls website of $170/night). Once our bid was accepted I called the hotel to ask if they would put us in a double bed room (Priceline usually books King beds only, no matter how many guests you have in your room). The front desk attendant was very helpful and accommodating. She switched our room with no problem. The staff from the front desk attendants, to the breakfast attendants, to housekeeping, to maintanence was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and in good condition. The area appeared to be a safe location. We never saw in unsavory characters hanging out in or near the hotel. The elevator was a bit slow but we used the stairs most days since our room was right by the stairwell (oh and I needed the exercise). The room itself was a bit small but we were still comfortable. The beds were comfortable but I didn't like the pillows (too hard). The bathroom was a standard hotel bathroom. It has a tub/shower and the water pressure was great. We never had an issue with running out of hot water. Housekeeping did a nice job each day and was accommodating when we had requests. The A/C was cold and inviting after a long day of sightseeing. I did a bed bug inspection upon our arrival and luckily there were no bedbugs. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. I couldn't believe it was free. My kids and my husband loved the waffles. The hotel also offers Jimmy dean breakfast croissants (bacon egg and cheese & sausage egg and cheese), fruit, oatmeal, a variety of cereals, bagels, and English muffins, blueberry & apple crumb muffins, orange juice & apple juice, milk (2% & skim), coffee. The breakfast area offers limited seating so be prepared to either wait for seating or take your food back to your room especially on the weekends. Out of the six days we only took our food back to our room twice (once by choice). Parking is free and very limited but we were able to find a spot each night even when we returned late. Since we drove our own car I cannot comment on how far this hotel is from the airport. I do know they have a shuttle and it seemed like a convienient option. The WiFi was OK but it was free so I really can't complain. I was using my Windows 7 phone and had to log on to the WiFi network each time I wanted to use the internet. My daughter had to do the same using her Ipod Touch so maybe that's the norm. The fitness room was quaint. There was one treadmill, one upright bike, one stairstepper, and some weights. We only visited it at night so there wasn't a wait to use any of the equipment. I'm not sure if there was a wait earlier in the day.Cons:-No onsite laundry facility,-Proximity to restaurants ( we had a car but I couldn't imagine walking over to Steinway at night)All in all we had a terrific time and we will definitely be back to stay. I would recommed this hotel to everyone.
