Star_Apple Posted July 27, 2011 Report Posted July 27, 2011 I have been reading through the bid experiences of Niagara falls as I need a place to stay on 9 August 2011 for 1 night at the US side but couldn't find the strategies. Please can you advise. Thank you very much in advance.
thereuare Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 Are you willing to pay more for a 3* vs. a 2.5* OR is your goal the least expensive 2.5* or better for this stay? What is your maximum bid for this trip?Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Star_Apple Posted July 28, 2011 Author Report Posted July 28, 2011 Thanks a lot for the reply. The max I am willing to pay would be bid $80. The least expensive would be preferable, I don't mind to choose the lower star level since it will be just one night and want only clean and safe place to stay.Should I lower the star or which area should be considered?
thereuare Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 If you look at the PRICELINE map and zone boundaries which zone(s) are close enough to your desired location for your needs? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Star_Apple Posted July 28, 2011 Author Report Posted July 28, 2011 Niagara falls is the first and second is East Niagara Falls, are the much more preferable zones. Next would be Amherst. Please advise. Thank you.
thereuare Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 Since you're looking for the least expensive you want to bid at the 2.5* rating, correct? (NOTE: personally i wouldn't necessarily recommend the lower rated hotels in a touristy area like this, i would stick with 3* if possible, but you know your needs and budget better then we do)Did you want to:-bid up to your limit in the Niagara Falls zone before adding Niagara Falls East, then bid up to your limit in Niagara Falls East before adding Amhert-bid Niagara Falls and Niagara Falls East together up to your budget, then if rejected added Amherst-price is ultimately the most important and the least expensive in any of these three zones is the goalPlease confirm how you'd like to pursue this and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Star_Apple Posted July 30, 2011 Author Report Posted July 30, 2011 Yes, I would really like to stay as close as possible to the falls. The price for 3 star I have seen would likely to be more than USD100 per night but it is ok and I want to try.I will proceed as you suggested. Kindly advise.
thereuare Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 To confirm:You want to bid Niagara Falls (only) up to your limit at the 3* level, then if that is rejected you want to try for a 2.5* in the same zone up to your limit... and this is before considering Niagara Falls East or Amherst. Assuming i have this correct, and your maximum bid is $80...At the 3* level you have ONE re-bid zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* Niagara Falls...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80If the above is rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 2.5* Niagara Falls...Bid $70any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
