Vanessa1303 Posted July 27, 2011 Report Posted July 27, 2011 Hey guys,i am actually new to this forum and i desperately need some help to book some Hotels. We actually arriving at Miami Int. Airport on the 22nd of Oktober 2011. We want to stay in Miami until the 26th of October (or do you think thats to long?) Afterwords we want to rent a car and drive to Fort Lauderdale and visit the Saw Grass Mills Mall until the 31th of October ( thats when we leave to go on a cruise). We are 2 persons (24yrs, 25yrs.) and our main focus is on going to the beach , shopping and going out at night. Therefor our main concern is to have a nice hotel which is located very well. The hotel should be either directly at the ocean drive or maybe on collins ave. I would rather not take the central south beach area because i ve seen that some of the hotels are really far away from everything. For our time at Miami South Beach we dont want to rent a car and do everything by feed. To us its very important that the hotel is clean. Therefor we think its necessary to have a 4 star or at least 3 star hotel ( what do you think? we are not familiar with hotels in florida).I would really appreciate if anyone would be able to help us. i already tried priceline on my own but i am just not very successfull :)Thank you in advance!Vanessa :)

Vanessa1303 Posted July 28, 2011 Author Report Posted July 28, 2011 22.10.2011-26.10.2011, im looking for a 4 star hotel or do you think a 3 star would work as well? 2 persons and we dont want to spend more then 140 USD a night.
yellowdog Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 Vanessa1303i know that this thread is for your Miami stay. But i just want to say that the last weekend of October (27-31) is Fort Lauderdale host for a very big boat show. This means that prices in Fort Lauderdale is high and inventory slim. You might want to do Fort Lauderdale first and then Maimi if you want to save money. And Fort Lauderdale is no fun during this time if you want to relax, beach and restaurants are crowded.I would act fast.Yellowdog.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
Vanessa1303 Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 I really want to do miami first and then Fort Lauderdale. but thank you very much for your suggestion. Nobody still helped me on my issues tho.
Romelle Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 Your first challenge will be to figure out which Priceline zones you want to bid, and which star levels with those zones. The very first post in this Priceline - Florida area has a list of hotels people have gotten. It is arranged by city and then by Priceline zone within city. When reviews are available, there are links to them. I think reading these reviews could give you a better feeling for both which PL zones you want and which ones you want to avoid. The ones marked "REVIEW" are reviews right on this site, whereas the Tripadvisor ones will take you to another site. You also can go directly into the reviews area with the Hotel Review tab above, then selecting the alphabetical listing and "F" for Florida. If you are familiar with European hotels, you will find that US hotels seem to be rated a little differently. A 3* US one can be closer to a 4* European one. 3* ones in most US cities are really quite nice. On the other hand, things are more spread out, and public transportation is not as good, so that makes it more important to find the right location.Romelle
