chrisedwards1986 Posted July 27, 2011 Report Posted July 27, 2011 I'm looking to get a hotel in time square on 11/23 to 11/27 for cheap. Any hotels people know that priceline will accept and what price they won it at?Thank you
AaronJB Posted July 27, 2011 Report Posted July 27, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. Unfortunately, $100 is not going to be realistic for a 4* for these dates, which are during one of the busier periods of the year. What would be your desired max budget per night? There is no way to try for a particular property - if you bid for a 4* for Times Square, for example, you have to be willing to accept any 4* in the zone. You trying for the lowest acceptable win rate for your particular dates (and what it takes for a win is going to vary from day-to-day), there is no way to increase the odds of getting a particular hotel.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted July 27, 2011 Report Posted July 27, 2011 I'm sure $150 would be ideal, but you're not likely to get a 4* Times Square hotel for this rate for these dates. You might get close to this rate if you're will to venture outside of the Times Square area and consider other centrally located midtown areas, but i still think it will take a little bit more than $150. The Thanksgiving Day Parade rolls thru town during these dates and many people will look to stay at a Times Square property to be close to (or ideally with a view of from their room) the parade. With Times Square properties having enough demand thru traditional booking channels for these dates at nearly twice the rate you're hoping for, there is little need for them to deeply discount rooms they feel they can otherwise sell at full price on their own. Also, i haven't looked too far into this stay yet as i'm not sure if you're willing to pay more for Times Square, lower your star rating, or consider other zones, but historically this has been a decent weekend to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID, but not sure if changing hotels midstay to save money is worthwhile to you or not.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
