kittykatt07 Posted July 26, 2011 Report Posted July 26, 2011 Have been trying to win a room in Waikiki Beach for February 2-7 2012 the last week with no success :) My max bid I would like to pay is $150. I would like either a resort or 4*. It appears that many have won rooms under that price so I'm a bit puzzled on why I haven't got anything yet. Any help would really be appreciated!!!

kittykatt07 Posted July 28, 2011 Author Report Posted July 28, 2011 I clicked on the PRICELINE link...not sure what else I am supposed to do now for you to reply to my post?
thereuare Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 It could just be too early for a very deep discount... hotels use the opaque suppliers to sell room inventory they don't otherwise think they can sell on their own. Given this stay is 6+ months away, hotels may have an idea, but not a very clear one, on just how much excess inventory (if any) they will necessarily have this far down the road. So rather than offer a deep discount today for a room they may regret selling if demand is strong and they later discover they could have sold at full price if they held onto it themselves, they may only offer a small discount (or no discount at all if they feel there is a good chance they will be at high occupancy with just their own bookings) and take a 'wait and see' approach. With the above noted, it's also possible that hotels could get busier then expected and even a shallow discount today could disappear to 'no discount' should hotels become to get full.If you're looking to 'get this done' sooner rather than later, my guess is that another $10-$15 may be the difference between your failed bids and a successful bid.Based upon the above let us know your thoughts and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
