Priceline Hotel: 3.5* Milwaukee (Airport MKE) Crowne Plaza

Tried several times over the last week or so to get a quick hotel near the airport in Milwaukee, since we land there late in the evening and wanted something close and easy. Was willing to take downtown, but didn't particularly want to pay a parking charge, since we'll be renting a car. Either way, the rates were much higher than I expected through Priceline, based on past bids being accepted in the $50 range.

I started around $45, and bid my way up as high as $74 and kept getting rejected. Went as low as 3* in both the Airport and Downtown regions and got nothing. Then I waited a few days and went backwards and started back around $60 hoping some prices would have gone down -- no luck.

Finally, yesterday, bid $74 the first time, and got rejected again, then decided I'd go slowly, since I had a few days left, and bid $75 and was accepted at the 3.5* Crowne Plaza Milwaukee Airport on a 3* bid for both Downtown and Airport regions. Looks like one of the nicer airport hotels, and free parking, so we'll see. Not a bad deal, but not fantastic either. Still saved me money off the $100 normal rate, and couldn't really get anything in that quality range for $75 (before tax, of course.)
