Hello i'm from Austria and i'm going to visit Miami from December 9. till December 16.

I want to stay in Miami Beach in a 4* Hotel. My favourite Area is the Miami Beach (Nr. 5). I think my rebidding areas are Aventura(1), Dadeland (3), Miami Lakes(8), Miami West(9), North Miami (10) and Southwest Miami(15).

Also i think that my possible Hotels are The Grand Beach Hotel, the Fontainebleau, Eden Roc, The Palms, the Gansevoort and the Sea View Hotel. But after reading in this forum I think that the most common wins are the Grand Beach Hotel, the Fontainebleau, Eden Roc and The Palms.

I've never read about a winning bid for the Sea View Hotel or the Gansevoort.

So i'm thinking to start my bids at 70$.

Do you think that I've a good chance? Or am I wrong with my opinion?

Sorry for my English!

Greetings Mike

Welcome to BetterBidding!

You can see all the 4* hotels reported to the bard in this area in the Priceline Hotel List (but note the comments at the to of the list... new hotels are often added and upgrades/downgrades also occur frequently). As PRICELINE provides no clues regarding the hotel you may win, there i no way to know which hotel you may be more/less likely to receive, although if you enter the following (without the quotes) "Miami Beach -South" into the QUICK SEARCH box in the blue banner at the top of board you'll see all related wins for this area and can get a feel for which hotels are reported more frequently the others.

My guess is that $70 is going to be to too low, but you can certainly start there, but if you let us know your maximum bid for this stay we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.

Hi!

Thanks for your answer!

The max. bid i would like to spend on a night is 120$.

Just two more questions, is there a possibility to get a hotel thru "name your own price" that is not listened in priceline?

And the second question: is the twenty dollar trick common in miami? I've used that Trick in Vegas and it worked very good, so should i try it also in Miami?

Yes, see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ regarding using the 'retail' version of PRICELINE to determine what you will get when 'naming your own price'.
And the second question: is the twenty dollar trick common in miami? I've used that Trick in Vegas and it worked very good, so should i try it also in Miami?
I don't know how common it is, but given the tipping that goes on in the 'club scene' in nearby South Beach i'm sure it's not unheard of.

If you're ready to move forward, at the 4* level you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* Miami Beach...

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $120

Any questions feel free to ask.

Hi,

Finally i've got my Hotel(s) in Miami.

From 12/09 - 12/12 i'm in the Hyatt Regency Miami; 110$/Night.

From 12/12 - 12/16 i'm in the Palms Hotel and Spa; 150$/Night.

To split my stay wasn't my first option. At first i wanted to saty only at Miami Beach, but none of my bids were accepted, the highest was 170$.

Then i splitted the stay and could make the deal.

The Hyatt Regency would have been my first choice. So i'm very glad to get this one.

I thought that i could maybe get the Grand Beach Hotel or the Palms in Miami Beach, whereup i would like the Grand Beach Hotel more. But finally i'm vey happy with my deal:).

So let me say thank you to you guys! You were a big help for me, i would have never get so far on priceline without your help!

If someone is some day in Austria, feel free to ask me if you have any questions, maybe i can help you:)

Greetings
