tanya1805 Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 hi, i won sheraton brooklyn 4* for 8/10-8/12 at usd 99, but when i wanted to add one night 8/12-8/13 they increased the price to usd 117.what is your suggestion?
AaronJB Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 With the add-a-night feature, it's not always guaranteed that there will be availability (the service may not allow you to add nights) or the price may be higher for the additional nights.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 Given that this is the only 'known' 4* hotel in the area, you could try bidding separately for the additional nite, but there is always a risk that a new 4* hotel (either a new property or a previously reported hotel upgraded to the 4* level) has been added to the system... so the question is whether the $10-$15 you might save by accepting the counter-off is worth the possibility of having to change hotels.Let us know how you decide to play it and how it goes OR if we can be of further help. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. tanya1805 Posted July 28, 2011 Author Report Posted July 28, 2011 Hi, finaly i booked other Hotel for additional nite, i won World Center in DT 3.5* for usd 110. It's not so convenient to change the hotel, but Sheraton Brooklyn wonted finaly usd 160, instead of usd 99, my win.I have another question. I booked in both hotels two double rooms (it's the only option in PRICELINE). one room is for couple , but the second is for couple + girl age 16. Can i ask the Hotels to give us one room for three or atleast 2 double beds and when i should ask them, in advance or in the check-in?
thereuare Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 Congratulations on your success!Glad to see you got this additional nite settled and i think it worthwhile moving to the city for the $60 savings. You can call the hotel now and request a room with two beds in one of the rooms. If they tell you to just ask at check-in based upon what is available, ask if they can at least note in in the system (or if you desire, you can ask if for an additional fee you can guarantee an 'upgrade' now to a room with two beds)Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
