Im looking into a vacation to las vegas 8/16-8/20 (On the strip). 4-5 star hotel. I started to look by entering the information on the top right of this webpage but quickly found out that there are many strip locations ie: north, east, west....I will be going with my wife and I want to spend it in a nice area. Ive been to vegas about 10 years ago a I remember it has its bad spots but I just dont remember where. Could someone let me know whats the nicest area and what area is a good mix of a good value and good location. ANY other help will be great

Upon further review I would like to get a 5*. I just found the list of areas of vegas and the number of *'s Any tips would be great

I would suggest if you want a really good hotel ...bid the strip north zone because that is where all the best 5 star hotels are.

You can check the list of hotel by going to the Priceline Hotel List

What is your budget by the way if you don't mind me asking?

I saw a member get the palazzo for 110 a night which I would love to get. Im alittle worried that since my stay includes a friday it might be harder to get, do you think that might be the case? Just saw PRICELINE has vegas strip north for 104 per night. Any idea which one that is?

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Resort fees are not included in your PRICELINE / HOTWIRE total price and is paid directly to the hotel upon check-out.

As PRICELINE doesn't show prices in their 'opaque' product, i assume you're seeing the $104/nite rate on HOTWIRE? If so, please include the amenities associated with this property and we'll have a look.

I'll add that while many like the Strip North properties best, the 5* South Strip properties have been providing better value lately, imo. For the same price i would likely take the North Strip simply because i like that area a little better, but if a North Strip is $150 and a South Strip is $100... i'd take the Strip South property as the North Strip isn't worth the extra $50/nite to me.

Let us know regarding the amenities of the HOTWIRE hotel and we'll take it from there.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

PS- please follow-up your previous Priceline NYC thread with whatever you ended up doing for that stay. Thanks.

Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.

The Strip North property above is a match for the Trump so that would be my best guess for this one. I'll also point out that this is not directly on the strip, although it is in HOTWIRE's "Strip North Vicinity" zone.

In keeping with my comments above, i would sooner go with the 5* Strip South casino for $105/nite, not because it's $5 cheaper, but because i think it's a better location then the Trump. For the Strip South property i'm guessing it's the Vdara (Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Spa). Note that neither of these properties have a casino onsite (although the Aria is not far from the Vdara if/when you're looking to gamble)
