Mamiya Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 I "won" a one night stay at the River Valley Inn in Eugene for $60 via Priceline on July 14. Previously I have always gotten the Hilton. I am a regular user of Priceline especially in the Portland area and their star ratings have been accurate. Not the case with the River Valley Inn. The property is run down. The rooms and hallways smell heavily of mildew/mold. Carpets in the hallways and my room were noticeably stained and the bed old, sagging in the middle and uncomfortable. This hotel should not be listed at ANY star level. I will no longer use Priceline for 3 star hotels in the Eugene area as they declined to re-evaluate the River Valley Inn's star status. So be it, but they lose my business in that market.
