Bid $50 on a 3* in South Bend for 7/29-7/31 and was rejected.

The Marriott and Residence Inn are listing rooms for $129/night. I guess I'll try again tomorrow!

Thanks for the tips. Well, I upped it by 5 to $55 and got rejected, but received this response: "If you are willing to raise your price by $15 to $70 per room, per night, you can try the same request again right now."

I have read that you can save those links for later which I will do.

My immediate strategy is to wait until tomorrow (no free rebid zones in South Bend!) and bid $60.

After getting a "one time" $70 counteroffer from PL on my $55 bid yesterday, I waited it out for a day and got the Marriott South Bend for $60/night (+$24.58 in taxes & fees).

I'm happy since their website was listing it for $129/night.
