YanksFan Posted July 23, 2011 Report Posted July 23, 2011 Just wondering if anyone has some input on getting a decent hotel near Disneyland for July 30-31. I have tried Garden Grove South (where 2 years back I got the Crowne Plaza for $43) for both 3 and 3.5 stars. Based on the posts I've seen on this board, for 3.5* I've tried $55, $58, $65 and $70. And for 3* I've tried $48, $55, and $65.None worked. Seems odd given that everyone else on here has gotten the 3 or 3.5 stars in Anaheim South for $40-$68.Any thoughts? Thanks
thereuare Posted July 23, 2011 Report Posted July 23, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please start by reading your messages.Rates are date specific and rates for your dates appear a little higher then usual... this could be due to an event at the park, generally high seasonal traffic for these dates, or even that you're looking for a solo one nite Saturday nite stay (although a closer look i think the former is more likely then the latter)Are you willing to consider the Disneyland North zone as well or does only the Disneyland South zone work for your needs? What is your maximum bid for this stay? What is the best rate you're able to find thru traditional booking channels? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. YanksFan Posted July 23, 2011 Author Report Posted July 23, 2011 Thanks for the reply. Been using this site as a resource for years and it's never let me down. Cheapest hotel I found that we'd considered is around $110+ tax. Willing to go up to about $75-80+tax on Priceline, otherwise I'll just book the Holiday Inn for around $110. I was about to do Disneyland North in hopes of getting one of the decent 3* there, but then saw the Clarion review on here and didn't want to get stuck with that one. Anything that is not a dump and is walking distance to the park will be fine. Just need it to sleep pretty much, but do prefer it not to be really run down. Thanks again!
thereuare Posted July 23, 2011 Report Posted July 23, 2011 Been using this site as a resource for years and it's never let me down. We're glad the board has been helpful to you over the years, but it's disappointing that this is your first post. :) It would be appreciated if you began to share your wins with the board so that the information can help others, just as you have been helped by those who posted before you....and is walking distance to the park will be fine. Not sure if you consider all points within the zone to be walkable, but your hotel can be anywhere within the shaded boundaries of the zone....saw the Clarion review on here and didn't want to get stuck with that one.You could bid 3.5* in the North zone. What is your next step... -increase your bids to $80 for a 3.5* in the South zone-increase your bids to $80 for a 3* in the South zone-include the North zone in your biddingLet us know your thoughts and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
