lucyp Posted July 7, 2011 Report Posted July 7, 2011 i am going to be in Manhattan from august 12 to august 15. Driving in. I am worried about putting a bid on a hotel in the city because I will have to pay for parking and since I wont know the hotel, I won't know IF there is parking. I was thinking of Long Island City. If I bid, are all of the hotels pretty close to subway access. I think it is pretty easy to get into the city from Long Island City but I was worried about bidding because I won't know which hotel. Should I just pick one that I know has easy subway access?

I am now looking to stay August 12-15. My sister had a room at the helmsley but she could not remember what zone it was in so I was just wondering...maybe hoping to get that hotel also.
AaronJB Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 The list of PRICELINE hotels that have been reported to the board can be found at this link: Priceline Hotel List. The Helmsley NYC has been reported as a 3.5* in MTE, although there are other possibilities in the zone - when bidding for 3.5* in this zone, you have to be willing to accept any 3.5*, as well as the possibility of being upgraded to a 4*.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
lucyp Posted July 22, 2011 Author Report Posted July 22, 2011 How do I bid on a hotel with priceline through this website when I have a $10 extra bidding link that they sent me through my email? I have to click on the link in my email to get the 10 deal so I can't use the PRICELINE link on better bidding.
thereuare Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Thanks for asking...Please note that you CAN still use your Bonus Cash along with the board's PRICELINE links as follows...1) click the PRICELINE link on the board2) go to the MY PROFILE >> MY REWARDS link at the top right of their home page3) use the bonus money link in the MY REWARDS section of your profile (not a link from an email) and bid as usualAny questions or problems let us know.In terms of parking, i wouldn't worry too much about access to a place to park your car... there are plenty of private garages around the city and you don't necessarily need to park at the hotel you stay in... there will likely be cheaper parking at a local garage nearby. Worst case scenario the Port Authority has parking for ~$30/day, so you can always park there and simply retrieve your car at the conclusion of your trip.Let us know once you decide in terms of zones, star rating and budget and if we can be of any assistance with a bidding strategy. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck! lucyp Posted July 22, 2011 Author Report Posted July 22, 2011 thanks for the parking info. I am really trying to use this site when booking my deal for priceline but I followed your directions and it did list rewards in my profile section but not the $10 bidding one. This was an email they sent me because of an earlier problem I had. The only way to get to it is through the link they sent me in my email. Any suggestions?
thereuare Posted July 23, 2011 Report Posted July 23, 2011 If you click the link in the email you may be taken to a page to enter your email address, at which point the bonus money will be deposited into your account. If so, please do that, then close the browser and re-access PRICELINE using our link and going to the MY REWARDS section. If the link from your email doesn't bring up a page to deposit into your account, then please just click our PRICELINE link before clicking the link in the email (we probably won't receive any credit, but worth a shot)Thanks. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
