bond316 Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 I am trying to book 1 room at a 4* hotel in NYC. I am willing to stay in Downtown-Soho-Financial District, CPS, Chelsea, ESB, HK, ME, MW, TS. My budget is $175 total after fees and taxes. So I guess my max bid would be about $150.I know there are less re-bid zones know because Brooklyn has 4* option...Thanks!
bond316 Posted July 21, 2011 Author Report Posted July 21, 2011 Not sure if this helps, but i selected DT, MTE, MTW, TS and bid $100. Then I got the screen that said "If you are willing to raise your price by $25 to $125 per room, per night, you can try the same request again right now."I knew I was close. So I added Coney Island and bid $105. Then I got the screen that said "If you are willing to raise your price by $30 to $135 per room, per night, you can try the same request again right now."Weird.So I tried at $110 adding CPS and Coney Island and bid $110. Then I got the screen that said "If you are willing to raise your price by $30 to $140 per room, per night, you can try the same request again right now."Thought this was weird again and I stopped. Any advice?
bond316 Posted July 21, 2011 Author Report Posted July 21, 2011 Okay I got anxious, as usual, and kept bidding using PRICELINE. My bid at $115 was accepted! Staying at the 4* Sheraton New York Hotel And Towers in MTW for $146.83 total. Thanks!
AaronJB Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Congrats on your success. :)First-rate deal for this Sheraton NYC property! Hope you are looking forward to your stay. The moving counter-offers are now common, but I would recommend continuing to move up slowly (by $5's), as was done in this case.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE link.Enjoy your stay.
