Looking for a 4+ star hotel in Times Square for the dates of 11/17-11/22 (going with my wife to celebrate our 5 year anniversary).

Using the HOTWIRE link on this website, I performed a search and located a hotel with 100% of Hotwire customer reviews recommending the hotel.

The amenities listed are:

Fitness Center

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

High Speed Internet Access

Cost is $291 per room per night.

Please let me know what hotel(s) you think this may be. I've never used Hotwire before and am a bit nervous about rolling the dice and getting stuck in a crummy hotel. At the same time, while I want the hotel to be somewhat romantic, I'd rather save some money to be spent enjoying the city (it will be my wife's first trip to Manhattan). Let me know if you have any tips.

Thanks.

Welcome to Betterbidding and Happy (early) Anniversary!

I think one suggestion would be to consider other areas near TS, which is usually the most expensive zone in the city, as well as the most crowded/hectic. One of the other nearby zones (MTC or MTE, for example) would allow you to be close to TS, but most likely save some money that can go towards a nice dinner or other things.

The amenity set with the 4* TS-Theater District property has been seen with the Intercontinental, Millennium Broadway, Crowne Plaza and Hilton Times Square; unfortunately, narrowing down the possibilities is difficult without a tripadvisor rating - one isn't showing on the detail page when I'm searching.

Are there any other listings of interest showing when searching for these dates?

The main suggestion that I have is:

1. The Royalton - a 4* boutique property in MTW that is on sale for $258 on Orbitz, and coupon ORBITZ5 takes an additional 5% off - $245.10 per night. This property gets excellent reviews and as a boutique would likely be able to provide more personalized service for an anniversary. Additionally, the 250 SQ FT room size is bigger than rooms at quite a few NYC properties. Nearly $50 less than the HOTWIRE TS option.

You could also bid on PRICELINE, although that would require being willing to accept any 4* in a particular zone.

Please let us know your thoughts and we would be happy to offer further suggestions.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE, PRICELINE or Orbitz links to start your purchases and searches.
