Alerta Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 Hello folks! Whatzup doc?Me and my other 2 friends are going to spend some days at Las Vegas. We heard about the Priceline website, but we don't get it!!!!!We are looking for a 5* hotel that has a casino.Would be very nice if it has a good location (specially at the Strip or nearby) because we won't have a car.But when we try to search, or the hotel has 4* and casino or has 5* without casinoCan we do something to maximize the chance of get Wynn, Venetian, Bellagio, or some of this kind? Thanks a lot in advance!!!!
604girly Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 If you bid south strip most likely you will get Vdara for 5* and there is no casinoYou would be better off choosing the north strip
Alerta Posted July 20, 2011 Author Report Posted July 20, 2011 I have just made a $145 bid on North Strip 5* hotels and it was unsuccessful! It is getting expensive! I think I'm going to wait a while.Any other tips? Thanks a lot!!!
thereuare Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!Few things to go over...You say you searches PRICELINE and you see 4* hotels with a casino and 5* hotels without a casino... but PRICELINE doesn't show this information... is it HOTWIRE that you're actually searching and seeing this info? Next, PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request. Is this a risk you're willing to accept? If not, HOTWIRE may still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search (although this usually means two beds, the second 'bed' could be a sofabed, rollaway, etc)Please clarify the above and let us know your maximum budget for this stay and we'll take it from there. Before replying, please read your messages and click each of these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links.Thanks. Alerta Posted July 20, 2011 Author Report Posted July 20, 2011 Hello thereuare!First of all, thanks a lot for your time.I have searched a lot of topics here, and almost all of them you were there, trying to help people. You are an example of administrator.I had just clicked the links. I will do what is necessary to support the board.Well, you are right! I made a confusion.I was using HOTWIRE when I described my problem.About PRICELINE and the double occupancy, yes, this is a risk that we are willing to accept. And I don't think this is risky, because a friend of mine told me that most hotels have a king size bed plus a sofabed where is possible to sleep.I think that we can spend until $150 per night. Thanks!!!
Alerta Posted July 20, 2011 Author Report Posted July 20, 2011 Hello folks!I'm looking for a 5* hotel at the Strip.<image removed: please no hot linking to screen shots>Spa, Resort, Smoke Free, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Hi-Speed Internet, KitchenetteDo you know what is the most probable name of this hotel? He has 5*, is at North area an do not have a casino. What are the chances that it is the Vdara? Can you name others that has this characteristics? Thanks a lot!!!
petrel800 Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Without a casino icon, 5* north strip, its most likely the Trump. Also, when you list the amminities, make sure you click the link on Hotwire that says show all amminities.Be sure to check the Hotel Lists at the top. It a very good resource and is kept up to date by the wins posted. Las Vegas Hotwire Hotel List
thereuare Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Thanks for the compliments on the site and glad you're enjoying it.What are the dates of this stay? The 5* hotel you posted above is in the North Strip zone, while the Vdara is in the South Strip, so there is zero chance that this is the Vdara. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for your purchases.
