abroberg Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 Love this site! Use it everytime I book through PRICELINE and HOTWIRE! I was wondering if anyone had any tips for bidding on Downtown Nashville. My dilemma is that PRICELINE doesn't separate Downtown Nashville and Vanderbilt University areas like HOTWIRE does. I am looking specifically for Downtown, not Vanderbilt, and certainly not Millenium Maxwell house--too far for my purposes. Any tips on bidding to get in this area or should I stick to HOTWIRE? Looks like the star ratings in both areas are similar, so it might be a crapshoot :)Thanks!
thereuare Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 Glad to hear you're enjoying the board :)With PRICELINE there is no way to target, or avoid, specific hotel(s) or part of the zone... you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. If the zone is too large, and/or there are hotels/areas you would rather avoid, HOTWIRE is probably a better, although slightly more expensive option. If you search HOTWIRE for your dates, are there any offers in within your desired zone(s), budget and star rating? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. abroberg Posted July 27, 2011 Author Report Posted July 27, 2011 Does anyone have any experience with Union Station or Holiday Inn Express? I am not familiar with the area, but I know that I want to stay downtown, within walking distance of all the action. Both are rated pretty high with Hotwire Customer Reviews (90%), but I didn't know if they were nice hotels or in nice areas. Thanks!
