n2ny Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 Started at $90, and was prompted to bid $120. I bid up to $105 in $5 increments until $105 was accepted. Happy to have a few days to explore Newport! Used your PRICELINE link, as always.

Happy to have a few days to explore Newport! Used your PRICELINE link, as always. That's an amazing deal. I was just looking into staying in Newport and the rack rate for the Marriott (my favorite) is $299, and Hotwire doesn't have anything I wanted. I wish I had waited a few days and seen your win! (Instead I went with a different short vacation plan, which will also be fun.)
n2ny Posted July 19, 2011 Author Report Posted July 19, 2011 Crito: do you have hints about staying at the Marriott? I've read they have rooms with windows that face an atrium (verses the outdoors)?!? I'm concerned that, as a Priceline customer, I'll get one of those. I'm hoping that, as a rewards customer, maybe they'll do a courtesy bump if they're not too crowded.
crito Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 No tips, really, but as a HOTWIRE customer this spring (off-season) I got an excellent view.
