rvianu Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 I'm looking to obtain a 4 star hotel in the beach area. Reviewing past history it looks like some people won bids from 90-135 or so, which is in line with what I'd like to pay. Is this reasonable? What would you recommend as a bidding strategy? I really appreciate any help.
thereuare Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 Given that there is only one 'known' 4* hotel in this zone, and the other hotels are 'Resort' class, did you want to bid the 4* level first OR is bidding the Resort class level a good place to start? I do think you have a good chance at success at your $135 limit or less, but bidding 'Resort' instead of 4* will give you more re-bidding opportunities.Let us know regarding the above and we'll take it from there.PS- Please follow-up your previous Priceline NYC thread with whatever you ended up doing for that stay. Thanks. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

Thanks.I should have waited but I was a bit impatient. I ended up bidding, through your website, at 115 and was able to secure the Marriott Wakiki Beach Resort and Spa. I suspect I could have done slightly better but I'm happy with the results!I will update the NYC thread as well. Thanks, Ron

rvianu Posted July 20, 2011 Author Report Posted July 20, 2011 Oops. My error. It was the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa.
