Ron58 Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 Just booked a 4* in Telluride for August. Paid 121 for 3 nights at Mountain Lodge Telluride. Called hotel and they placed us into their standard lodge room. Rate from hotel was $93 per night. Hotels.com had it for 106 per night. Contacted Hotwire and advised them of lower rate. Waiting for reply and refund from Hotwire. First time Hotwire has been more expensive then other sites including booking directly from hotel.

I'm waiting for a call back from a supervisor. Why am I not surprised?

Why am I not surprised?I am surprised... while i understand this hasn't been your experience to date, HOTWIRE is actually one of the better companies (imo) when it comes to customer service, and in particular, honoring their best rate guarantee.Not sure if you did or not, but anytime you make a BRG claim it's usually a good idea to take a screen shot of the page and the name of the person you spoke with who approved the claim. Given rates are a moving target and can fluctuate often, this at least gives you some level of proof should you encounter a problem.Let us know once the supervisor calls you back and the outcome.Good luck. I spoke with a representative who was very helpful. She agreed that the claim had been filed within 48 hours and that a lower price had been confirmed by Hotwire. I received an e-mail 3 hours later that a refund was being made!
