I looked through about 20 pages of the Las Vegas entries

and the only 3.5* hotel I found was the Tropicana,

but I understand the Spa is not available.

Any ideas, suggestions or clues?

As per the Hotwire Hotel List the above matches both Ballys and the Flamingo so either of these would be my best guess for this one. However, i'm not currently seeing this property offered when searching HOTWIRE for your dates... are you still seeing this on your own search? If so, are you searching HOTWIRE for more then one room or for more than the default 2adults/0children?

I am searching Hotwire with 2 adults and 1 child. I did the search with 2 adults and 0 children and, like you observed, it doesn't show up.

Also it is now showing (this morning) $53 per night and Recommended in 80% of Hotwire customer reviews (instead of 85%)

Both Ballys and Flamingo are possibilities, but i'd favor this one more likely being Ballys and that would be my best guess (although you should be prepared for either)
