hotelVisitor456 Posted July 15, 2011 Report Posted July 15, 2011 Hi,Hotwire is listing a 4* hotel in Midtown East area for $242 per night for the 6 night stay 08/28/11-09/03/11. It is recommended 95% hotwire customer reviews.I need an ID on the hotel if possible, as I want to be as close to Central Midtown as possible (none come up on Hotwire for my date range).Ameneties are: Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed InternetI think it is worth noting that I am looking for 3 adults. Does this gaurentee that I will get 2 doubles(sharing is ok)? Would it be a better strategy to search for 2 adults(I know it gives different results), and then ask for a room with 2 doubles if I get the room?I am using the HOTWIRE link provided on the website. Thanks!
thereuare Posted July 15, 2011 Report Posted July 15, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!Searching HOTWIRE for 3adults ensures accommodations for all three. While this is often 2 beds, the second 'bed' could be a pullout sofabed, rollaway brought into the room, etc... would this be acceptable? Bidding on PRICELINE would be a risk as all that would be guaranteed is double occupancy, while you could request a room with 2 beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to accommodate your request (or there could be an extra fee involved). Given that NYC has a high percentage of rooms with only one bed (and some have no room for a rollaway) and some NYC hotels consider rooms with two beds to be an upgrade, it's not a risk i recommend taking (vs. when visiting a place like Orlando which is more family friendly and has a greater number of rooms with more than one bed... where it is more of an acceptable risk to take)For the HOTWIRE property above, this is a match for the well reviewed Omni Berkshire and that would be my best guess for this one. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
hotelVisitor456 Posted July 15, 2011 Author Report Posted July 15, 2011 Thanks for all the help! Im pleased to announce that I booked the Omni Berkshire for $242 a night as you said it would be. This is the hotel I was hoping for as it seems to be closer to the Midtown Central area than some of the other hotels in the midtown east area. Of course it also seems like a great hotel!I made to sure to book using the HOTWIRE link from this website. Thanks again!
