xoom Posted July 15, 2011 Report Posted July 15, 2011 Using the board's PRICELINE link:3 Nights 09/02 - 09/05Initial bid of $100 for 4* in Quincy Mkt/Faneuil HallSecond bid added South Boston for $115Third Bid added North Cambridge for $120Fourth Bid added Medford - Somerville for $125Still no luck, The most I'd really like to spend per night is $115 and would only like to be in the Quincy Mkt areaI'm thinking I need to drop down to 3.5* hotels.Any thoughts?
thereuare Posted July 15, 2011 Report Posted July 15, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! You can try to lower your star rating if you'd like, but i'll also add that HOTWIRE currently has a 4.5* in this Quincy Market zone for $155/nite... while this is over your budget, a 4* on PRICELINE may be available for $140 or less, if you decide you'd like to pay a little more for a 4* then you have already bid.If your budget is firm and you'd rather not increase your bid, you can try lowering your star rating to 3.5* and see how that goes. Although this is a holiday weekend, it's also a time of year when students all over the area begin to move back to the college and universities, so families helping their kids move-in may be taking up some of the hotel inventory for this weekend. If you'd like help with a bidding strategy let us know if you want to set your maximum bid at $125 (the amount you have already bid for a 4*) or $115 (the amount you stated you'd prefer to keep it under). Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. cjszybinski Posted July 15, 2011 Report Posted July 15, 2011 I am new to this forum, thank you for the opportunity to explore travel discounts and benefits. My question relates to the above mentioned 4.5* for $155 on Hotwire in the Quincy Mkt/Financial area... The icon for SPA is listed, any idea which property this is? Thank you in advance!Additionally, I have stayed at the Omni Parker and the Ames on previous trips.. I am hoping to stay at either of these properties, OR the 9-ZERO or the Onyx. Any suggestion on how I may enhance my chances of aquiring one of these properties (9/2 - 9/6) on either HOTWIRE OR PRICELINE? Thank you again. My best guess is that the 4.5* is the Langham... any other thoughts?
hotelseeker1 Posted July 15, 2011 Report Posted July 15, 2011 My best guess is that the 4.5* is the Langham... any other thoughts?See the hotwire hotel thread I just made in the hotwire forum on this. Also, see this thread: Hotwire Boston Quincy Marketwhere a guy spent a lot of work trying to figure out if the HOTWIRE listing is the Langham or the Intercontinental.

cjszybinski Posted July 16, 2011 Report Posted July 16, 2011 I just secured a priceline winning bid for the Hyatt Regency for $125 per night (4* Qunicy Mkt/Financial on PRICELINE) for 4 nights, 9/2-9/6. Not the property I was hoping for, but oh well, it's a good enough rate...
