Edge44 Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 Looking for 5* North Strip for August 22-25th, then switching to any other 5* (north or south strip) for Aug 25th-Aug 29th.For 1st part, am currently considering just booking PH hollywood hip strip room (city view) for $80, but wondering if it's worth bidding for something better & cheaper? For Aug 25th-29th, currently the C and Aria are around $150/night (before resort/taxes). Thoughts?
thereuare Posted July 15, 2011 Report Posted July 15, 2011 You may be able to get a 5* hotel in the Strip South zone for about $80, perhaps a touch more, but not sure what star level you consider PH Towers and if you're willing to spend a few extra dollars for a 5*? However, note that even if you win a hotel for around $80, the 5* Strip South properties will likely come with a resort fee, whereas i don't think the PH Towers has any, so your net total cost will likely be a bit more if you're able to get a 5*, even if the room rate is the same.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Edge44 Posted July 17, 2011 Author Report Posted July 17, 2011 Thanks for your reply. I decided to go for PH for the weekdays, just to have it locked/fixed. However I am definitely going for a 5 star for 8/25-8/28 (4 nights). North or South works for me. Any tips would be welcome.I've just realized that I really would prefer North - as it looks like the South 5* are all non-smoking (I am a smoker).

Edge44 Posted July 19, 2011 Author Report Posted July 19, 2011 My ideal target would be $100 or so, not including taxes/resort fees. I'd think about more, but I'm just stating the ideal right now..:)
thereuare Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 I think you'd have a shot if you were bidding the North and South zones (and probably just a touch higher to win), but i don't think $100 is going to be enough if bidding for just the Strip North zone. If you want to give it a try, at the 5* level you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 5* Strip North...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $78, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $83, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $88, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $93, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
