Using the PRICELINE link, I recently bid on 4* @$100, was rejected, added Benecia at @ $110 and was accepted by Silverado. Problem is Silverado's pricing is much lower than the other 4*'s in Napa, effectively "cornering" the Napa bid market. Reading the reviews on Priceline it appears the much older rooms are used for Priceline guest and the rooms are much below 4* quality.
thereuare Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 This is the first reported win of this property to the board... so that we can have a 'win' associated wit the listing in the Priceline Hotel List, can you please add a reply to this thread with the date(s) of your stay so we can add this information to the topic title and enable this thread to appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins.As far as your situation above, if you're not comfortable with every hotel offered in a given zone at a given star rating, then PRICELINE may not be the best option for this purchase... you can either raise your star rating to avoid a particular property (lowering doesn't help since your lower star bid could be upgraded to the higher rated hotel you're trying to avoid) OR you can use HOTWIRE if you're reasonably able to identify or know that the hotel offered is not the one you're trying to avoid (ie- if the HOTWIRE is showing a pool icon associated with a given property, and the hotel you're trying to avoid doesn't have a pool, then you can 'safely' purchase this offer knowing it won't be the hotel you're trying to avoid)Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
