sarah2376 Posted July 13, 2011 Report Posted July 13, 2011 I am very happy about my winning bid! First of all, the week I am going to Amsterdam there is a huge conference so all the hotels are booked and OVERPRICED!I checked HOTWIRE first and the Sheraton was up there for $125. I took a chance and bid on PRICELINE (using the link) and got if for a little bit cheaper. Here's what I did:Bid $98 *5 City Center Museum Quarter (I knew it would be rejected though)Bid $100 added Schiphol Airport - rejectedBid $103 added City Center South and my bid was accepted for Sheraton Airport Hotel - the one I was aiming for all along!!!! Yeah! This hotel is connected to the airport and is a short distance to the train into the City Center (15min train ride into Central Station). I was surpisingly able to use Marriott Points to stay in the city center my first night (Thursday) and needed a hotel for Friday & Saturday night as I fly out on Sunday morning. This is perfect! I saved 79% !!!! Now I have more money to spend on sightseeing and activities...food & booze, etc! Yeah! I guess its not impossible to get a good rate when there is a busy convention and limited availability by hotels in the area...Check-In: Fri, Sep 9, 2011 / After 03:00 PMCheck-Out: Sun, Sep 11, 2011 / 01:00 PMOffer Price:avg. per room, per night : US$103.00Rooms: 1Nights: 2Room Subtotal: US$206.00Taxes & Fees: US$31.44Total Charged to Card: US$237.44
