I am going to Chicago on the 30th for a night. My friends booked on priceline separately because they are staying 2 nights. they have the Hilton Palmer House for $100 from 7/29-7/31. I think they bid too much. I want to do it for $80 as that seems like it could be accepted. I notice some people are getting the Hyatt and am afraid I will get a different hotel than them. Does the price make any difference in which hotel I get through priceline? I feel like people who bid 70-80 are getting the Hyatt and people who bid $90+ are getting the Hilton Palmer House.

There is no way to know which hotel you may get and if you bid higher to attempt to avoid and/or get a particular property, you could definitely wind up overbidding. What appears to be the Palmer is showing at $110 on HOTWIRE; I'm guessing $85-90 may be what it takes for these dates, but $80 is worth trying.
