Hotwire Hotel: 4* Boston (Cambridge) Hotel Marlowe

I'm going to Boston for my 30th birthday, (7/21-7/22) and have been going crazy the last few days with trying ot get a nice hotel at a reasonable price. Hotiwre had a waterfront convention 4* at 118 a few weeks ago, and stupidly I did not get it then. Now the pickings are really slim. I tried priceline up to 130 for areas I was willing, and with bids of up to 125 went for 3.5 * in some areas, and still no go. I almost booked a 149 waterfront through Kayak for a total of 345, but didn't want to really spend that much, and then even THAT was gone this morning.

So in my panic, and thanks GREATLY to this list, I did a hotwire 4* in Cambridge that had listed "Boutique" so praying that it was really going to be the Marlowe (i.e.: very nice and RIGHT across the river and near-ish to the red-line) I took that for 136 and got it: Marlowe. Not crazy that I had to spend 325 total, given what I could have gotten a few weeks ago, but lesson learned.

Wasn't sure how to add this to the calendar wins but wanted to share my info if it might help others. The last discussion thread that made it clear someone had recently gotten the Marlowe gave me the courage to go through with it! =)
