Hi,

I tried Priceline and started bidding at 80$ and went to 105$ but offer declined.

I am looking for one night for this weekend July 9th to July 10th.

I see people getting accepted at 85$ and 90$ what am I doing wrong?

Is it the dates? Weekend should be more expensive. If it is what should it be?

Any suggestions very appreciated.

Thank you.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Is it the dates? Weekend should be more expensive.
The weekend is typically more expensive, and what may be compounding the problem for you this stay, is that you're seeking a solo Saturday nite. I would think the majority of guests book a full weekend in the area, so if a hotel sells a solo Saturday nite, they may not be able to accommodate another guest who is looking to book both Friday and Saturday nites. As well, this is 'the season' for the area, and it's last minute, so many hotels may already be at or near full occupancy, and therefore have little reason to offer deep discounts thru the opaque suppliers... preferring to hold onto the room inventory themselves in hopes of selling them at full price to last minute traffic.

What is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel for this nite thru traditional booking channels?
