Hotwire Hotel: trying to identify hotel in Chicago

We will be in Chicago on Sat. July 23rd and Sun July 24th and I have been searching daily for a good rate. Unfortunately, the earlier rates were much lower than I am finding now. It seems that they raise hourly! The amenities for this hotel are non-smoking, fitness center, pool, restaurants, buisness center and high speed internet. Map shows that it is located on E. Hubbard and State street 1 block south of Illinois. Any idea about this hotel and is this the best rate I can get. I am concerned about waiting longer and it not being available, but have had friends tell me to wait it out. Any suggestions?

It is a 4 star hotel in Mag mile and streeterville area for $132.00 per night

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

Waiting until the last minute does not always pay off, especially if there is something going on during the time period or it's a particularly busy season. Waiting until the last minute paid off more often a few years ago, but as traffic has improved, this hasn't been the case as often.

The map on the detail page for the HOTWIRE listing does not show the address for the hotel.

Are you checking out on the 24th or 25th? How many people are in your party?

Aaron,

Thanks for checking on this for me. We are checking out on Monday, July 25th sorry for not being clearer. There are 2 adults and 2 teenagers. We just decided to go last weekend but were waiting for a work clarification before booking. I am ready to book it but money is certainly a big deal for us. There wasn't an address the info I gave is what the mapped area appeared to show when I clicked on it.

The suburbs (which are quite nice) are a more reasonable alternative (although I would only recommend them if you're driving), and then you can take the Metra (and the Metra trains are pretty nice, although they don't run as often on the weekend and it's about a 37-45 minute trip each way) in or drive in. For example, in the North burbs you could likely score a 3.5/4* for $45-60 using PRICELINE.

The HOTWIRE listing in question (4* Mag Mile/Streeterville w/amenities listed above) would be a possible match for the Sheraton.

Thanks for all the information....after all my searching my boyfriend decides to cash in hotel points (he travels with buisness) and got us booked at the crown plaza! He did that in 3 minutes while I spent hours on HOTWIRE. I appreciate your website and your help. I will recommend it to others!
