jjlo Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 I need help identifying a 4* in Las Vegas that is listed near south strip area. It's $63 per night for the days Sept 22-25The amenities are as follows:ResortFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Laundry Facilities (self-service)High-Speed Internet AccessKitchenetteSpa ServicesSince it says "near" strip south, does that mean that it could be far from the strip?
thereuare Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you look at the boundaries of this zone you'll see that the entire zone is South of the airport, which by most people's standards is not 'the strip' they're looking for when going to Vegas... is this the area you want to stay or are you looking for a hotel that is actually around the main part of the strip? What is your maximum budget per nite for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. jjlo Posted July 2, 2011 Author Report Posted July 2, 2011 I was looking for something on the strip and I would like to pay maximum around $100 per night and there will be four people in the room so I'm not sure if I should use PRICELINE since it only guarantees accommodation for two people. A 4* would be ideal, a 5* is even better since the rooms are bigger. I'm not sure how much more I'll have to pay for resort fees and fees for two extra people so I would like the base price to be right under $100. There is a 5* listed on HOTWIRE in the north area for $113 but I'm not sure what else that could be besides the Trump because it doesn't have a casino. I could be wrong, but I think the Trump is the only 5* on the north strip that doesn't have a casino. Although I'm not interested in the Trump, I'm quite sure I'd be able to get it cheaper on PRICELINE. Should I maybe take my chances on bidding on PRICELINE since most of the hotels automatically come with one bed plus a sofa bed, which would be fine for the four of us? Or would I be able to call the hotel after purchasing, and ask if they can reserve a room with two beds?

Or would I be able to call the hotel after purchasing, and ask if they can reserve a room with two beds?Whether to use PRICELINE depends upon how much risk you're willing to accept (ie- note above regarding receiving a room with only one bed and possibly not being able to upgrade) as well as the unknown of additional costs, if any, should you be able to request a room with two beds and/or 'declare' quad occupancy. You don't mention if the 4 people are all adults, but if you search HOTWIRE for 2adults/2children often the price won't increase since the additional guests are children, and you also guarantee quad occupancy (although the second 'bed' could still simply be a sofabed in the room). If you go this route and are actually 4 adults you can simply only have two people go to the counter to check-in with the 'kids' wondering elsewhere in the lobby.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
