Only my second time using PRICELINE (first time was seemless). This time around, I went through several rounds of bids. Perhaps its b/c I am bidding for the next day on a long weekend (July 1 - July 3).

Initially started the bid at $131 for a 4-star in Mag Mile/Loop area. It asked me to increase bid and choose another star level, included 3 1/2* + and increased bid to $135. Still didn't win.

Logged out and back in, tried another bid at $141 for same area and 3 1//2 & 4 star - still rejected and increased bid to $145. Still nothing.

If all failed, was willing to just pay the advertised $155 for the Hilton Garden on Priceline (without bidding).

I bid this morning for 3 1/2*+ at $154 (just below what is advertised for the Hilton) and got the Hyatt. We were hoping to the Marriott or Intercontential, but are more than happy with getting the Hyatt Regency Chicago (4-start diamond hotel, recently updated with renovations).

Congratulations on your success!

Glad to see you're happy with the results and looking forward to your stay. I do think you could have done better, as HOTWIRE currently has a very highly rated 4.5* property offered in the Mag Mile Streeterville zone for $148/nite. Feel free to ask for help before bidding for your next hotel stay.
