thegnator
Hi there,I am looking for some help from the gurus!I've only used Priceline a couple of times before and have been successful. In February 2011 I stayed at the 4* Midtown East W on Lex for $95.00 by bidding on PricelineIn March 2011 I stayed again at the W on Lex for $110.00 by bidding on PricelineThis trip to NYC will be substantially longer - two weeks - from Sunday July 17 to Sunday July 31.I would like to stay Midtown East or Midtown West for convience to my office.By the looks of it, my previous stays @ $95 and $110 are below current marke prices. Can someone help me with a strategy? I'd like to keep it capped at $150/night maxThanks! Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! Please start by reading your messages. Are you seeking a 4* hotel for this stay? If so, at current prices I'm doubtful that $150 will be enough for a 4* hotel in the MTE or MTW zones, but if you confirm we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. If $150 is rejected, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. So Here's what happened.I decided to fly home for the weekend (almost cheaper than staying in NYC) So I would essentially be breaking up my 2 week stay.My first stay would be:Sunday July 17 to Friday July 22I bid as follows4*$125 for MTE, MTW$130 for MTE, MTW, ConeyIsland$140 for MTE, MTW, ConeyIsland,Upper East$150 for MTE, MTW, Coney Island, Upper East, BrooklynThe $150 was "successful" at the Shearton BrooklynOH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!This could not be a more worse outcome. Is there anything I can do? Or is this a sunk $900 cost?I will need a midtown hotel.Thank you for all your help and guidance thus far.valerie Link to comment
thereuare
Sorry to see you received a hotel in a zone you didn't intend.PRICELINE reservations are non-refundable/non-changable. You can try contacting PRICELINE and let them know you added a zone you didn't intend and see their response... it's more the exception then the rule, but on rare occasions they have allowed a 'one time cancellation' for a fee.Thank you for sharing your win with the board. If you contact PRICELINE let us know how it goes.If you need help with the next leg of your stay, or a replacement stay, please start a NEW TOPIC.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
